On August 2, 2006, the La Crosse Fish Health Center staff conducted a fish health survey on fish collected from Videan's Creek, the water supply for Pendills Creek NFH, in Brimley, Michigan.

The survey was conducted to insure that fish present in the stream were not carrying pathogens that could potentially threaten fish at the hatchery.

Electrofishing yielded 10 brook trout and 22 sculpins for pathogen screening.  Tissue samples collected from the fish will be screened for bacterial (Aeromonas salmonicida, Renibacterium salmoninarum, Yersinia ruckeri), viral (infectious pancreatic necrosis virus, infectious hematopoietic necrosis virus, viral hemorrhagic septicemia virus), and parasitic (Myxobolus cerbralis) pathogens, at the laboratory facilities in Onalaska, Wisconsin.

James Anderson, Sullivan Creek NFH, and Jenny Walker, Pendills Creek NFH, assisted the health center with electrofishing of Videan's Creek.
