Albuquerque Academy Students Study Biological Diversity at Sevilleta National Wildlife Refuge
Southwest Region, March 16, 2006
Print Friendly Version

On March 16th and 17th, 2006, ten students from Albuquerque Academy visited the Sevilleta NWR to study biological diversity in grassland and desert ecosystems. The students inventoried plants and animals and studied soils as well as keeping nature journals. They toured a portion of the Refuge’s eastern side and met with researchers studying the effects of climate change on the desert/grassland ecotone.

The Refuge visit is an annual event for students in Karen Beamish’s environmental science class.
