Print Friendly Version
On September 14, 2005, we signed a Safe Harbor Agreement with The Nature Conservancy and issued a recovery permit, which will alllow the reestablishment of populations of endangered Gila topminnow and desert pupfish in south rim tributaries of Aravaipa Creek. This SHA is part of a larger reestablishement effort in Aravaipa Canyon, involving The Nature Conservancy, Arizona Game and Fish Department, the Bureau of Land Management, and Arizona Ecological Services Office. The Agreement duration is for 20 years and currently covers four reestablishment sites. Implementation of the SHA is being planned for fall 2005 or spring 2006.
