Journal Entry   Back Managment at Occoquan Bay NWR - Prescribed Fire 10 Region, April 20, 2005 Print Friendly Version Biologist Joe Witt and Tim Craig, the Regional Prescribed Fire Specialist, coordinated the burning of about 40 acres of grassland at Occoquan on April 20, 2005. The Great Dismal Swamp Fire Crew, refuge staff, and national park service staff all cooperated to make the day successful. A change in the weather mid-day prevented the completion of all spring burning projects at the refuge but plans are being formulated for a possible fall burn. No contact information available.
