Penn II Tract, The Trust for Public Land. This tract is 433.52 acres and is adjacent to the Balcones Canyonlands National Wildlife Refuge, which is a preserve for endangered golden-cheeked warblers and black-capped vireos. The Penn II tract contains high quality habitat for the warbler and will complete a land block in excess of 11,500 acres. Preservation of this parcel removes an eminent threat of development for a parcel that is an in-holding requiring access through Refuge property.

Mann Tract, Bear Springs Blossom Nature Conservation Group (BSBNCG). Environmental Defense, The Nature Conservancy, and Natural Area Preservation Association have all been working closely with BSBNCG to assist them in purchasing two parcels that are adjacent to property BSBNCG already owns and manages for conservation. The Mann Tract is 20.9 acres and is the most centrally located of the two parcels. This tract contains a steep canyon-side with high quality warbler habitat throughout.

Gold Tract, BSBNCG. This is the second parcel adjacent to BSBNCG's property and is 10.37 acres. This property is adjacent to the Mann Tract. This tract contains golden-cheeked warbler habitat and would contribute to the overall size of the conservation area.

Ward Tract, Audubon Society. This tract will continue to assist the Dallas County Audubon Society in acquiring the last remaining known golden-cheeked warbler habitat in Dallas County. Preservation of this parcel will contribute to a larger area referred to as Dogwood Canyon, which has warblers and black-capped vireos. Additionally, preservation of Dogwood Canyon will contribute to other natural habitat areas in the immediate area, including Cedar Hills State Park and Audubon's Cedar Mountain and Cedar Ridge Preserves. Audubon has already purchased 86 of the 250 acres and plans to continue fundraising until all parcels are preserved.

The funds were contributed as a result of Habitat Conservation Plans and section 7 consultations for conservation of this endangered bird, and these projects were funded to accomplish these objectives.
