LOGO PATTERN FOR USE BY MEMBERS ON BUSINESS CARDS AND STATIONERY. The logo was designed by Tom Schultz of L. Wolff and Associates, Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. Lauren Lenon of Lauren Graphics, Aurora, Colorado adapted the logo for two-color use and for the membership plaque. ARTIST'S CONCEPT OF THE LOGO DESIGN Shape: The circle represents AAV's global influence, environmental concern, strength and permanence. As a design feature, the circle works well in any layout. The Bird: A generic parrot was chosen because it is easily recognizable as a companion and a common veterinary patient. The parrot is also recognized as an inhabitant of the world's most sensitive areas. The Arm: With its relaxed, outstretched hand and gracious curve, the arm expresses the association's commitment to avian stewardship. The cradling of the bird expresses the need for environmental action. The Face: The stylized profile of a human face represents the closeness that all AAV members feel to birds. This closeness represents a co-dependency - man and bird are together, inside the circle and ultimately, on earth.
