Burden Reduction (BR) Initiative

This site focuses on EPA's Burden Reduction (BR) Initiative that began in October 2006. It is aimed at the state and federal staff who have worked diligently to reduce states' reporting burden through this Initiative. States recommended over 200 ways to reduce their reporting burden. Much of our effort to date has focused on addressing 16 priority areas that encompass about 130 of these recommendations. You can browse the priority areas and recommendations in three ways:
