Creek and Unnamed Tributary, Section 205 Flood Damage Reduction, Jonesborough, Tennessee.  The project falls within the 1st Congressional District.

Authority for  the Corps of Engineers to construct the project is taken from the Flood Control Act of 1948, as amended.

Jonesborough, the oldest town in Tennessee, in the extreme northeastern corner of the state, in Washington County, is subject to flooding from Little Limestone Creek and an unnamed tributary.  The primary damage center is in the historic district of downtown Jonesborough.   Intense rainfall, steeply sloped terrain and extensive basin development have created hazardous conditions.  Damages average about $120,400 (2004 dollars) annually.
