Abstract

SAMHSA's National Mental Health Information Center provides the public information and referrals on mental health services. The Center offers a toll-free number, and a World Wide Web site. People may also write for information. Free copies of publications on a range of mental health issues are available. The Center's information specialists answer callers' questions and refer them to Federal, State, or local resources for more information and help. The Center offers up-to-the-minute information on issues such as prevention, treatment, and recovery services for mental illness: and on subjects ranging from advocacy to suicide prevention.
