Below are some important College-related events planned for the future. Other agencies, departments, and organizations are encouraged to submit events to the calendar administrator as well.

Please include a full description of who should attend, what will happen during the program, where your event will be held and when it will take place.

January 2009

Jan 27–30
County college and NMAC Mid-winter Meeting
The New Mexico Association of Counties hosts County College Day on January 27 at the Hilton of Santa Fe and its NMAC Mid-winter Meeting at the El Dorado and Hilton hotels in Santa Fe Jan. 28 - 30.

A total of 11 County College courses will be offered -- seven on Jan. 27 and four on Jan. 28 and 29. The Extension Service affiliate will meet Jan. 28 and 29. More info...

4-H In Service Training
State wide professional development training for county extension agents and program assistants conducting 4-H program work in counties will be held January 26-29 in Albuquerque.

USDA/CSREES National Water Conference
The USDA-Cooperative State Research, Education, and Extension Service (CSREES) Water Program brings university scientists, instructors, and extension educators into more effective and efficient partnerships with Federal interagency priority programs while addressing water quality and quantity issues in the nation. This program also provides the flexibility necessary for CSREES to bring the resources of researchers, instructors, and extension educators into national initiatives and programmatic partnerships that target evolving water needs. The conference will provide opportunities for water professionals engaged in research, extension, and education to share knowledge and ideas, to identify and update emerging issues, and to network with the CSREES National Water Program and partner organizations. 28th Annual Vine & Wine Conference
The 28th Annual Wine Conference presented by The Viticulture Program at New Mexico State University and the New Mexico Vine & Wine Society will be held on February 27 and 28 at the Sandia Courtyard Hotel & Convention Center in Albuquerque, NM Take I-25 to I-40E, Turn Left on Eubank Blvd NE, Turn right at Hotel Avenue NE - 10300 Hotel Avenue NE).

The registration form will also be posted soon on the viticulture website. Speakers will touch on marketing of tasting rooms, grape breeding and varieties, weed ID and herbicide use, wine tasting and judge training among many wine and grape growing topics. Make plans to join us in February.

The Southwest Premier Conference for Organic Agriculture will be held February 27 and 28 in Las Cruces at Hotel Encanto.

County College will offer 22 courses to New Mexico Association of Counties' members and other public-sector and non-profit employees in Las Cruces at the Dona Ana County Building and NMSU campus March 15-20. the classes allow students to work toward their national Certified Public Manager designation.
