Education Programs

The National Park Service recognizes the importance of education and George Washington Birthplace National Memorial is committed to providing high caliber educational programs.

Washington’s Birthplace has a number of educational programs that are presented in the park and conducted in school classrooms. These hands-on programs reflect the Virginia Standards of Learning in history, English, computer technology, math, and science through intense active learning experiences.

We also offer environmental education programs. From the tidal Potomac River to the wetlands and marsh habitat, from the lush vegetation with huge evergreens to the ancient oyster shell middens, from the river otters swimming in Popes Creek to the bald eagles soaring overhead, Washington’s Birthplace offers myriad opportunities for educational programs at the birthplace of the “Father of Our Country.”

Available programming by grade level:

K-2 | 3 | 4-5 | 6-7 | Make Your Reservation | Logistics | Outreach
