Already have your USDA eAuthentication ID?
Proceed to the GSM
Online System.
Before you can use the GSM Online System, you must first obtain an eAuthentication ID
from the U.S. Department of Agriculture by completing two steps:
-
Apply online for Level 2 access. Complete Step 1 (apply online for Level 2 access) by completing the form at
https://eauth.sc.egov.usda.gov/eAuth/selfRegistration/selfRegLevel2Step1.jsp
Fill out the online form and submit it electronically. You will receive a
confirmation email. The email will contain a link in the text; please read the
text and click the link. You must click this link within 7 days of receiving
the email and before completing Step 2.
- Have your identity verified by a USDA
Local Registration Authority. To complete Step 2, you will need to visit a
USDA Service Center, where a USDA
employee will verify your identity and activate your account. To locate the
Service Center nearest you, go to the eAuthentication Website (http://www.eauth.egov.usda.gov)
and select "Service Centers." Select your
state and county from the map to get the location and phone number of the
nearest Service Center. When you visit the Service Center, you must have the
following with you:
- Your Level 2 User ID and password.
- A valid government-issued photo ID, such as a state driver's license,
military ID, state ID or passport.
For further information on the types of accounts, select "What
is an account?" on the left side of the screen. When you return to
fill out the online form, make sure it indicates "Level 2 Access" at the top
of the form.
After your account is activated, you will be able to conduct business using
the GSM Online System.
Each person in your organization who uses the Online System must complete the
process to obtain an eAuthentication ID. Please do not share your User ID and
password with anyone!
