Philadelphia Fleabane (Erigeron philadelphicus)

Identification: Flowers with numerous rays (50 to 100) closely packed. Disk yellow. Ray florets white or white tinted with pink or purple-pink. Flowers less than 1.0 inches in diameter. Stem hairy with erect hairs. Middle to lower leaves elongate, heart-shaped with the base of the leaf clasping the stem. Plant 0.5 to 2.5 feet in height.

Distribution: Throughout North America.

Habitat: Philadelphia Fleabane is a species of fields, roadsides, thickets, and open woods.

Flowering period: April to July.
