Technical Notes:
Real Media
(RM)
- The video files should work with RealPlayer version 8 and above. Many computers will have an appropriate viewer program already installed. If you need to update an existing version of RealPlayer or RealOne, run the player, then select 'Help' then 'Check for Update.'
- The video has been captioned. If the captions don't
appear, start RealPlayer or RealOne player. Select 'View,' then 'Preferences.' Select the 'Content' tab. At the bottom of the window is the 'Accessibility'
section. Select the 'Settings...' button. Select 'Use Accessibility Features when available' and 'Show Captions.' Select OK twice.
These settings will not interfere when the player is accessing content that doesn't use captions.
- Versions of the free player are available for Windows, Macintosh, and Linux systems.
Windows Media
(WMV)
- The video files should play with Windows Media Player version 7 and above. If you have difficulties, perhaps a player upgrade will help. To check if there is a newer version of the player, select 'Help' and 'Check for player upgrades.'
- The video files have not been captioned.
