The spring 2009 Depository Library Council meeting will be held in Tampa, FL, at the Hyatt Regency Tampa, ideally located in the heart of the city at 211 North Tampa Street, Tampa, Florida 33602.
The Council meeting is free and open to the public. The 15-member Depository Library Council discusses issues affecting the Federal Depository Library Program with Government Printing Office administrators and assists the GPO in identifying and evaluating alternatives for improving public access to government information. Registrants may attend Council sessions as well as educational programs running concurrently.
On-site registration, along with coffee with Council members, starts at 8:00 a.m. on Monday, April 20, 2009. The Council meeting will begin with a GPO Update plenary session at 10:30 a.m. The meeting will conclude on Wednesday, April 22, 2009.
Advance registration is important to provide us the information necessary to ensure effective planning to make this meeting productive and enjoyable for you. So please register as early as possible.
Accommodations
The spring 2009 Depository Library Council meeting will be held at the Hyatt Regency Tampa, 211 North Tampa Street, Tampa, Florida, 33602. A limited number of rooms will be available on a first-come, first-served basis at the prevailing Government Per Diem rate of $104.00 (plus 12% tax) per night single.
Please make your reservations online or by calling 1-800-233-1234. You must mention the GPO's Federal Depository Library Conference and Council meeting to receive the correct rate.
Reservations should be made before Saturday March 28, 2009 to ensure receiving the prevailing Government rate. If you have any problem making your reservation, please contact the Office of Education and Outreach at (202) 512-1119 for assistance.
Reservations made after March 28 will be subject to availability and the rate may vary. The Government rate will be honored beginning Thursday, April 16 through Saturday, April 25, 2009.

Parking
- Self parking - $10.00 per day - This does not include in/out privileges and is based upon availability

Shuttle/Taxi Service
The Hyatt Hotel is located approximately 9 miles from the Tampa International Airport. The Hotel does not offer complimentary transportation services. Hyatt Regency Tampa's preferred shuttle service, Blue One Transportation, offers non-stop transportation to and from the Tampa International Airport. No reservations are needed. Just call the Tampa airport hotel's transportation Hotline (813-333-3598) when your flight lands. You will then be directed to the nearest ground transportation area positioned at each of the opposite ends of the Airport.
The shuttles leave at the top of every hour from the Front Desk area, starting 6:00 a.m.
Pricing: $13 one way/for single passenger
Taxi service is available from the Hotel, 24 hours.
- Taxi from and to the Tampa International Airport is approximately $20.00, one-way.
- Taxi from the St. Petersburg Airport takes about 45 minutes and costs approximately $40, one-way.
In-Town Trolley stops across the street (Tampa St.) from the Hotel. The Trolley takes you to Hyde Park Shopping Village and Harbour Island and connects you to the Historic Streetcar (50 cents), which takes you to the Channelside Entertainment Complex and Historic Ybor City ($1.50).
Vendors
GPO will provide a 3’ x 6’ table and two chairs per vendor. It will be the responsibility of the vendor to make arrangements for any additional requirements. Space is limited and will be on a first come, first served basis. Vendors interested in table space at the DLC meeting should use the web submission form above.
