Purdue to launch entrepreneurship assistance clinic

The Entrepreneurship Assistance Clinic, located in Room 231 of the Burton Morgan Center in Purdue's Discovery Park, opened during the week of Jan. 12 as a resource for aspiring entrepreneurs and small-business owners. Hours during the semester are Wednesday through Friday, 9 a.m. to noon and 1-4 p.m. The clinic will be closed during the Spring Break week of March 16-20.

Graduate students from the Krannert School of Management's Master's of Business Administration program will staff the clinic. Advising and business mentoring services will be made available to those looking to start a company and those with existing small businesses.

"Our hope is that students and the Purdue community will benefit from the clinic," said Ken Kahn, director of the Burton D. Morgan Center for Entrepreneurship and Purdue's Kauffman Campuses Initiative, a national entrepreneurship support program. "Clinic staff will assess the needs of visitors and determine whether professional guidance in business creation and growth is warranted. If so, future visits can include free consultations with local entrepreneurs, consultants, lawyers, accountants and financers."
