Medicines Don't Mix

Script for a 30-Second Television Public Service Announcement

Male Actor: I have to admit, I'd never given it that much thought.
Taking different medicines at the same time, I mean.
Like me, I was taking a prescription pain reliever after my knee surgery.
But I was still hurting.
So, I took an over-the-counter medicine as well.
Until my doctor pointed out that they both contained the same pain reliever.
So, I was actually taking more than I was supposed to without even realizing it.
The best way to be sure is to know your medicines.
Take the time to be careful.
Narrator: A message from the National Council of Patient Information and Education and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
