Prohibition of Movement and Notice of Quarantine

In addition to Ministerial Orders, the movement of materials can also be regulated through legal notices issued to property owners. For properties where EAB has been confirmed, a Prohibition of Movement will be issued, which prohibits movement of regulated materials from that specific property. This measure is taken to prevent movement of potentially infested materials off the property.

Notices of Quarantine are issued to prohibit movement of regulated materials from properties within an area suspected to be infested or at high risk of being infested with EAB. This measure is taken to slow the spread of EAB within a regulated area.

Such measures are currently in place for some properties in Elgin, Middlesex and Norfolk counties. Property owners have been notified that regulated materials cannot be removed from these properties without the prior permission of the CFIA.
