Research Project:
OPTIMIZATION OF SAMPLE PREPARATION FOR ANALYSES OF PHENOLIC COMPOUNDS FROM DIFFERENT MATRICES
Location: Food Composition and Methods Development Lab
Project Number: 1235-52000-048-01
Project Type:
Nonfunded Cooperative Agreement
Start Date: Jul 15, 2004
End Date: May 31, 2009
Objective:
Optimization of sample preparation procedures for extraction of phenolic compounds from different food and plant matrices.
Approach:
1. Samples will be extracted by different procedures such as Stirring, Sonication, Shaking and Accelerated Solvent Extractor.
2. Impact of solvent, temperature, and particle size on extraction of phenolic compounds from different food matrices will be evaluated.
