Analysis
DWM data are used to strategically assess fuel/biomass loads across
the United States. They also serve numerous research interests related
to the health of America's forests. Three types of DWM data summary
products may be available at the State and regional scales. The first
tier of products that result from DWM data analysis are tabular summarizations
(core reports). The second tier of analysis are graphical representations
of core reports created in such a way as to aid regional and/or State
analysts. The third tier of analysis consists of map products. DWM
mapping techniques may combine all phases of the FIA inventory, in
addition to ancillary data sets, to produce large-scale maps of DWM
components.
