2008 Water and Wastewater Rate Survey (Bi-annual)

The 2008 Water and Wastewater Rate Survey, being conducted in partnership with Raftelis Financial Consultants, will provide useful information on water charges for a diverse and meaningful sample of U.S. cities and a select number of Canadian and international cities.  This survey will update the 2006 Water and Wastewater Rate Survey, available in the AWWA Bookstore in book and interactive CD-ROM formats.  Participants in the 2008 survey will receive a complimentary copy of the published survey results.

2009 Safety Award Survey

Water and wastewater utilities that serve a population over 10,000 are welcome to participate in the 2009 Safety Survey, a short online survey asking questions regarding total population served, total number of full- and part-time employees, total hours worked, and total recordable injuries. Utilities that meet the required performance qualifications will receive and award.

2009 Performance Indicators Survey

All water and wastewater utilities are invited to participate in the 2009 Performance Indicators Survey, which will update the Benchmarking Performance Indicators for Water and Wastewater Utilities: 2007 Annual Survey Data and Analysis Report, now available in the AWWA Bookstore. Participating utilities will receive a valuable and free statistical summary you can use to measure your performance and efficiency in 22 key benchmarks.

2008 Water Treatment Plant Employee Survey

The Water Treatment Plant Employee Survey is the first in a series of small, online surveys focused on narrow topic areas. This approach will make it possible to complete the survey in only a few minutes. Several small surveys on different topics will be offered each year. The variety of topics ensures that, usually, different subject matter experts will respond. This lessens the time and effort for each respondent.  After the data collection period for each small survey has ended, AWWA will compile the data and produce a statistical report. All data contributors will receive a free summary report of the results for all respondents. Results are coming soon.

2002 Distribution Survey

The 2002 Water Utility Distribution Survey questioned over 300 U.S. and Canadian water utilities on 12 distribution characteristics. The results database is on a CD-ROM available in the AWWA Bookstore.

1999 Financial and Revenue Survey

The 1999 Financial Revenue Survey asked more than 650 U.S. and Canadian water utilities questions in 22 categories ranging from income, expenses and demand management programs to water loss, rate structures and customer demographics. The results database is on a CD-ROM available from the AWWA Bookstore.

1996 Water:\Stats Water Utility Database

The 1996 Water Utility Database Survey questioned utilities on revenue data, financial data, water quality, treatment practices, and distribution. The results database is on a CD-ROM available in the AWWA Bookstore.
