You've
just finished spraying a field, and you end up with 10 or
15 gallons of leftover pesticide spray.
What
can you do?
It may
be tempting to dump leftovers in the field, but that's the
worst thing you can do. Dumping can cause contamination of
groundwater. It's also illegal.
Check
the pesticide label. The label will tell you how to dispose
of small amounts of the pesticide. Or, you could apply the
product on another similar field.
If you
have questions about these or other aspects of pesticide use,
contact the County Extension office. A new publication is
available at your extension office. It's called Dispose of
Pesticides Properly. It will help you do exactly that.
