Agricultural
noise is a common health hazard on the farm and ranch. According
to the U.S. Department of agriculture, 10 percent of the nation's
farm workers are exposed to excessive noise levels.
The
National Safety Council reminds you that tractors, combines,
choppers and grain dryers can cause permanent hearing loss.
Remember
to wear ear muffs or ear plugs when working around loud machinery.
Be sure to get regular hearing tests. If you detect a problem,
such as ringing in the ears, have your hearing checked immediately.
