MSU Extension Grain Marketing Program Set for Jan. 20

EAST LANSING, Mich. -- Interested in learning more about current agricultural commodity markets? Then you might want to attend the “Marketing Grain in the Face of the Financial Meltdown, Which Way Do We Go?” workshop, set for Jan. 20 at the Ubly Heights Country Club in Ubly, Mich., from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
           
This workshop will include a review of where commodity markets are currently positioned and a discussion of practical skills to help manage current market risks. Speakers from agencies, agribusinesses, farm financial institutions and Michigan State University (MSU) Extension will provide participants with a wealth of information.
           
The workshop will focus on the impact of the worldwide financial crisis on farm commodities. Participants will learn a hands-on approach to current marketing alternatives and tips on producing a successful marketing plan.
