South Building, Washington, D.C.
Speakers: Chief Bruce Knight, Associate Chief Dana York and former Soil Conservation Service Chief Norm Berg. “A Partner in Conservation Since 1935,” a five-minute video about the agency’s history, will be shown. A proclamation signed by USDA Secretary Mike Johanns will be read.

Open House Highlights

* Media event with Lt. Gov. Carol Molnau and state conservation leaders at State Capitol. Proclamation reading by lieutenant governor; remarks by Chief Bruce Knight and State Conservationist William Hunt. Vic Ruhland, a retired NRCS employee who worked for the agency for more than 40 years, will sign his newly published book, “Through These Eyes: 70 Years of Soil and Water Conservation in Minnesota.” Sixth graders from Sun Path Elementary School, Shakopee, will attend.

* Book Signing at NRCS State Office, 2:00 p.m – 2:30 p.m.
