Portland, Ore. --The Bradford Island visitor center at Bonneville Lock and Dam and the fishing areas at Bradford Island and Robins Island on the Oregon shore will be closed to the public due to construction on Saturday, March 6, from 7:30 a.m. to noon.
The visitor centers on both Oregon and Washington shores offer a variety of historic displays featuring videos, posters and maps. Guests can watch video presentations describing the dam's history and construction, or get a fish-eye view of salmon and other fish migrating up the dam's fish ladders. The best time to watch migrating fish is April through October.
Bradford Island Visitor Center on the Oregon side of the Columbia River is located at Exit 40 off Interstate 84. The Washington Shore Visitor Center is located on Washington State Highway 14 at milepost 40.
