PORTLAND, Ore. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has a volunteer activity planned for National Public Lands Day, Saturday, Sept. 29.
Rogue Basin park rangers will undertake a variety of activities, including invasive plant removal, litter clean-up, campground renovations and sign installations at Bridge Hole at Lost Creek Lake. If you would like to help out, contact Ed Amerson at (541) 878-2255.
All volunteers will receive a coupon for a “fee-free” day, good for entrance or day-use fees at any recreation site managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Bureau of Land Management, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, U.S.D.A. Forest Service and National Park Service.
National Public Lands Day is the nation’s largest hands-on volunteer effort to improve and enhance the public lands Americans enjoy. Last year nearly 100,000 volunteers worked in 1,100 locations and in every state to help restore shared lands.
