Renovated campground now open at Lookout Point Lake

PORTLAND, Ore. – A newly renovated U.S. Army Corps of Engineers campground is now open on the north shore of Lookout Point Lake.

Ivan Oakes Campground’s 24 campsites are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. The shady, wooded campground is located about six miles east of the Lookout Point Dam on West Boundary/North Shore Road near Lowell, Ore. Camping fees are $8 per night. One additional vehicle is permitted for $4 per night provided it fits within the campsite parking pad. There is no additional parking available.

Campground amenities include graveled parking pads, picnic tables, potable water and vault toilets. The Eugene-Pacific Crest Trail, which passes through the campground, provides miles of hiking and mountain-biking opportunities along the lake. Signal Point Boat Ramp, located about a mile from the campground, provides access for boat launching even at low water levels.

The campground was managed by Lane County Parks under a lease agreement with the Corps until 1997. Under a parks reorganization plan, the campground was returned to Corps management and has been upgraded into a fee campground following extensive renovation.
