Corps of Engineers celebrates Women's History Month

PORTLAND, Ore. -- Bonneville Lock and Dam park rangers will celebrate Women’s History Month, Saturday, March 10.

A fictitious character, portrayed by park ranger Jane Jackson, will share stories about traveling west on the Oregon Trail in the 1840s as told from a woman’s perspective. The stories reveal the experiences of hardship, loss, tragedy and adventure, and how, with courage and persistence, she adapts to change.

The program is scheduled for 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m., in the 3rd floor main theater of the Bradford Island Visitor Center.

Bonneville Lock and Dam is located off Interstate 84 at exit 40. For more information, contact the visitor center staff at (541) 374-8820.
