Corps issues public notice for Cougar Dam facility

Comments sought by February 12

PORTLAND, Ore. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers issued a public notice for Post Authorization Change Report for Cougar Dam Fish Collection and Transportation Facility on January 10.

The Corps is proposing the construction of a permanent fish collection and transportation facility as part of the Willamette River Temperature Control Project at Cougar Dam, Oregon, which was authorized under the Water Resources Development Act of 1996, and reauthorized under the Water Resources Development Act of 1999.

Public comments on the public notice must reach the Corps by Feb. 12, 2007. Written comments should be mailed to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Portland District, Attn: CENWP-PM-FP, P.O. Box 2946, Portland, OR 97208-2946. Comments should include the reference number: CENWP-PM-FP-07-01. The draft PAC Report is available on the Corps’ website at https://www.nwp.usace.army.mil/issues/wrtcp/documents.asp. A draft Environmental Assessment addressing the impacts associated with the activity was previously released for public review and comment. The public comment period closed on Oct. 27, 2006.
