Bonneville holiday closures

PORTLAND, Ore. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers recently announced holiday closure information for visitor facilities and some fishing areas at Bonneville Lock and Dam.

“The two visitor centers and two fishing areas inside the project, Bradford Island and Robins Island, will be closed on Christmas and New Years days,” said Jim Runkles, Bonneville Dam park manager.

As in years past, Tanner Creek, Washington Shore and Hamilton Island fishing areas will stay open through the holidays.

The Bonneville Lock and Dam is open seven days a week all year, except for holiday closures on Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years days. The visitor centers are open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and fishing areas are open from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Bonneville Lock and Dam is located just 40 miles east of Portland on the Columbia River. The Corps of Engineers invites the public to visit the dam throughout the year to experience the educational visitor centers and recreation opportunities the dam and surrounding areas provide.
