Corps reviews permit applications for Wilsonville, Lebanon, Tillamook and Government Camp, Ore.

PORTLAND, Ore. — The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is reviewing four permit applications requesting a Department of the Army permit for certain work in waters of the United States. The public notices regarding the permit applications listed here were issued during the week of June 13, 2005.

Public Notice 200500368, requested by the City of Wilsonville. The project is located in the Coffee Lake Creek area in Wilsonville, Ore. The project’s purpose is to provide transportation and utility connections between Boeckman and Tooze roads by permanently filling 4.4 acres of wetland and creek bed. Public Notice 200500164, requested by RMA Development. The project is located in Lebanon, Ore., whose purpose is to construct a 5.01 acre single-family residential subdivision, which includes placing about 7,000 cubic yards of fill on 1.57 acres of palustrine emergent wetlands in conjunction with the construction of roads, utility lines, driveways, building pads and yards. Public Notice 200400683. Project is located at Blind and Hall sloughs and the Wilson River in Tillamook, Ore. The multiple-component project’s purpose is to promote wider circulation between Tillamook Bay, Wilson and Trask rivers and Blind and Hall sloughs. Comments must be received by July 15, 2005. Public Notice 200500305, requested by Mt. Hood, LLC. The project is located at Collins Lake in Government Camp, Ore. The project’s purpose is to enhance a water feature for a resort development by deepening Collins Lake, constructing sediment detention basins and diverting two feeder streams. Comments must be received by July 15, 2005. A copy of the public notice may be found at https://www.nwp.usace.army.mil/op/g/docs/notices/200500305.pdf.

The Corps of Engineers is soliciting comments from the public, federal, state and local agencies, Indian Tribes and other interested parties on these permit requests.

The Corps of Engineers will issue or deny any permit under authority of Section 404 of the Clean Water Act, for discharge of dredged or fill material into U.S. waters, and/or under Section 10 of the Rivers and Harbors Act of 1899 for work in or affecting navigable waters of the United States.

If the applicants have submitted a mitigation plan with the permit request, it will be considered. If a permit is issued, the Corps will decide on the appropriate and practicable compensatory mitigation for each proposed project.
