PORTLAND, Ore. — The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is seeking comments on two applications for permits to conduct work in waters of the United States. The public notices regarding these permit applications were issued during the week of April 27, 2008.

Public Notice NWP-2007-711 describes a proposal by Don Wilbur to carry out a variety of dredge and fill activities in order to create, enhance and restore wetland habitat on an island in the Siuslaw River near Cushman, Ore.

The purpose of the project is to create a new wetland mitigation bank. Comments must be received by May 30.
