PORTLAND, Ore. - The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers recently announced holiday closure information for visitor facilities and some fishing areas at Bonneville Lock and Dam.
The Bradford Island Visitor Center, the Washington Shore Visitor Center, and Bradford Island and Robins Island fishing areas will close on Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years days. As in years past, Tanner Creek, Washington Shore and Hamilton Island fishing areas will stay open through the holidays.
The Bonneville Lock and Dam is open seven days a week all year, except for these holiday closures. The visitor centers are open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., fishing areas in Oregon are open from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. and fishing areas in Washington are open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. The Hamilton Island boat ramp is accessible 24 hours a day. If you plan to be on the water, be sure to wear a life jacket and obey all posted speed limits.
The Corps of Engineers invites the public to visit the dam throughout the year to experience the educational visitor centers and recreation opportunities the dam and surrounding areas provide. Bonneville Lock and Dam is located off of exit 40 on Interstate 84.
