Portland, Ore.-Visitor centers and some fishing access areas at Bonneville Lock and Dam, on the Columbia River 40 miles east of Portland, will be closed to the public beginning tomorrow and until further notice.
The Bradford Island and Washington Shore visitor centers, as well as the Bradford Island and Robins Island fishing areas, are closed to the public. The powerhouses and access to the navigation locks remain closed. Fishing access is available at Tanner Creek on the Oregon side of Bonneville Dam, and from the North Shore Road/Fort Cascades fishing area in Washington.
Public access at all Portland District U.S. Army Corps of Engineers' projects remains restricted, with security heightened as a result of the ongoing national situation. No direct threats have been received: additional security measures are precautionary only.
These projects include: Bonneville, The Dalles and John Day dams on the Columbia River; Big Cliff, Detroit, Foster, Cougar, Green Peter, Dexter, Lookout Point, Hills Creek, Cottage Grove, Dorena, Fall Creek, Fern Ridge and Blue River in the Willamette Valley; and Lost Creek and Applegate projects in the Rogue Basin; and Willamette Falls Locks in Oregon City.
With the exception of Bonneville Dam, usual fishing areas are open at all projects.
Contractors working under Corps contracts should report for work as usual.
