Portland, Ore. -- All U.S. Army Corps of Engineers projects in Oregon are in full operation, but it’s not business as usual at this time. Public access at all projects is restricted until further notice.
These projects include: Bonneville, The Dalles and John Day dams on the Columbia River; Big Cliff, Detroit, Foster, Cougar, Green Peter, Dexter, Lookout Point, Hills Creek, Cottage Grove, Dorena, Fall Creek, Fern Ridge and Blue River in the Willamette Valley; and Lost Creek and Applegate projects in the Rogue Basin; and Willamette Falls Locks in Oregon City.
The Dalles and John Day dams are closed to all public access. Locks at all Columbia River dams remain in operation, however.
Visitor facilities at all Corps projects are closed. Any tours that may have been previously scheduled are cancelled.
At Willamette Valley and Rogue Basin dams, roadways across spillways and powerhouse roads will be closely monitored with access limited.
With the exception of Bonneville Dam on the Columbia River, usual fishing areas are open at all projects. Some Bonneville Dam fishing access areas remain closed, however, fishing access is available at Tanner Creek on the Oregon side of the project and from the North Shore Road in Washington.
Contractors working under Corps contracts should report for work as usual.
