Portland, Ore.--The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will present a series of public information meetings in April to describe the current and expected water situation for Willamette Valley reservoirs and rivers this summer.
The meetings will be held in Eugene, Sweet Home and Stayton between April 24 and April 26, respectively. Each meeting will begin at 7 p.m. and last about two hours.
Corps of Engineers presenters will describe what area reservoirs could look like this summer because of the low water situation, and answer questions about decisions made affecting water releases from the reservoirs this spring.
The Bonneville Power Administration, National Marine Fisheries Service, Oregon Water Resources Department, and Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife have been invited to discuss issues relating to power availability, water quality and endangered species. Local municipal water providers also will be on hand to discuss conservation efforts at the local level.
Editor's Note: Meetings will be held at the following locations:
April 24: Eugene - City Hall, 777 Pearl
April 25: Sweet Home - High School, 1641 Long St.
April 26: Stayton - High School, 757 W. Locust
