Portland, Ore. -- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is evaluating a permit application to fill .6 acre of wetland to construct an apartment complex in Creswell, Ore. As part of its permit evaluation process, the Corps is requesting public comment on the proposed project prior to making its determination on whether to issue or deny a permit for the work.
The work would include construction of a 26-lot subdivision and an RV parking area on two lots totaling 10 acres. The total amount of wetland at the site is about 1.27 acres. Some of the wetland would be filled to allow access to the RV parking area.
The Corps will consider whether the proposed project meets standards of the Clean Water and Endangered Species acts and will look at the overall impact of the project on the affected area. The project is not expected to affect endangered species or their critical habitat.
For a copy of the Corps’ Public Notice 2000-00313, which describes the proposed project in detail, please write to U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, ATTN: CENWP-OP-GP, P.O.
