Corps seeks input on Rosewood Street extension project

Portland, Ore. -- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is evaluating a permit application to impact .27 acre of wetlands to extend SW Rosewood Street near Tualatin, Ore. As part of its permit evaluation process, the Corps is requesting public comments on the proposed project prior to making its determination on whether to issue or deny a permit for the work.

The applicant, Steve Berrey (Rosewood Business Park), would construct a 680-foot extension of Rosewood Street between SW 65th and 63rd avenues. The road would be 30 feet wide and allow access for the proposed Rosewood Business Park. The business park, with 112,350 square feet of commercial space, would be built in an upland area and would not impact wetland areas. The applicant proposes enhancing of .76 acre of wetland and creating another .22 acre of wetland at the River Run Park in Lake Oswego to minimize the project’s impacts.

The Corps will consider whether the proposed project meets standards of the Clean Water and Endangered Species acts and will look at the overall impact of the project on the affected area. Any consultations required under the Endangered Species Act must be completed before a permit could be issued.

For a copy of the Corps’ Public Notice 2000-00328, which describes the proposed project in detail, please write to U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, ATTN: CENWP-OP-GP, P.O. Box 2946, Portland, OR 97208-2946. A copy of the public notice is posted on the Corps’ Internet site at https://www.nwp.usace.army.mil/op/g/notices/200000328.pdf. Photocopies of drawings supporting the proposed project are included in the public notice.
