The Department of Education benefits from working with many partner organizations inside and outside the federal government that share an interest in and commitment to international education. Partnership activities seek to promote the interests of the U.S. education community and support the policies of the U.S. government.

• Interagency Cooperation involves work with other U.S. federal agencies on issues and projects related to international education.

• Bilateral Cooperation includes various agreements with authorities in other countries to cooperate on specific projects.

• Multilateral Cooperation includes Department participation in the work of international organizations, including:

  • UNESCO
  • OECD
  • OAS
  • APEC
  • European Union (EU)
