Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgender (GLBT) – USDA has included a prohibition against sexual orientation discrimination in its Civil Rights Policy Statement since 1993.  While the avenues of redress differ from those available under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, Executive Order 13078 issued on May 28, 1998, provides a uniform Federal government policy to prohibit discrimination based on sexual orientation.
