The Office of Academic Affairs’ primary role is to coordinate all functions and policies related to the academic programs at South Dakota State University. Some of the primary responsibilities are coordination of:

  • North Central Association Accreditation, Site Visits and Reports
  • Graduation/Commencement Ceremonies
  • Curriculum Development and Processing
  • Completion of the University Undergraduate Bulletin
  • Faculty Development Opportunities include expanded availability of computer training; special focus workshops; multi cultural activities; assistance of individuals and groups through Mini Travel Grants and New Ideas Funds
  • Final Approval on University Academic Related Petitions for Students
  • Promotion and Tenure Process
  • Interpretation to faculty and staff of Academic Aspects of BOR/COHE Agreement and SDSU Workload Policy
  • Working closely with deans and directors individually and through the Academic Council
  • All aspects of academic integrity and quality at the institutional level
