Description: The Index Translationum, maintained by UNESCO, is an international bibliography of books translated in the world. The data base contains cumulative bibliographical information on books translated and published in about one hundred of the UNESCO Member States since 1979 and totalling more than 1,400.000 entries in all disciplines : covering all subjects: philosophy, religion, social sciences, law, education, economy, exact and natural sciences, medicine, science and technology, agriculture, management, architecture, art, history, sport, biography, literature. Almost 250 000 authors are listed and over 500 languages mentioned. Each bibliographical entry carries the following information: author's name, translated title of the work, translator's name, publisher's name, year of publication, original language and, often, the original title and number of pages. Updated quarterly.
