- The Pennsylvania Gazette , 1728-1800; Godey's Lady's Book , 1830-1865; Freedom's Journal , 1827-1829; The National Era, 1847-1860; Provincial Freeman , 1854-1857; The Christian Recorder , 1861-1893; The Charleston Mercury , 1860-1865 (selections); and various Pennsylvania newspapers, 1819-1870 (selections).
- The Charleston Mercury , The New York Herald , 1860-1865 (selections), and The Richmond Enquirer , 1860-1865 (selections), as well as other Civil War newspapers.
