Databases and E-Resources at the Library of Congress

Librarians' Index to the Internet

Access: Publicly available resource

Description: A directory of about 10,000 sites, but search results are considered to be of the highest quality. Every site entered in the database is reviewed at least twice by staff and contributors, which are sponsored by the Library of California. Library of Congress subject headings and reliable annotations have been added, and an active weeding program keeps the search results current. See Librarians' Index to the Internet help page for an explanation on using their engine.
