Events

NSAS provides sustainable agriculture information and networking opportunities through events including an annual Healthy Farms Conference as well as farm tours, field days, and sustainable events/workshops (both described below).

We believe that farmers learn best from other farmers, and we apply this "peer learning" philosophy throughout our educational work. Farm tours also provide wonderful opportunities for all that share an interest in good land stewardship, conscientiously raised food and our Nebraska farm and food economy to see what Nebraska's creative and dynamic farmers are doing! All of our events feature innovative growers who share their experience and knowledge about food and farming systems. Our events include time for formal and informal discussion and networking. We also serve local, sustainably-raised food as often as possible.

Annual Healthy Farms Conference

Held in February each year, NSAS hosts a wide range of speakers covering interests ranging across the spectrum -- from production to marketing to conservation in farming & beyond. Our keynote speakers are always inspirational & educational! Our 2008 conference was February 1 & 2, 2008 at Metro Community College's Culinary Arts Center in Omaha, NE. Check out the 2008 conference brochure for a sample of our programs. 2008 Conference Brochure available as a PDF. (Adobe Acrobat required)
