Ohio Forage & Grasslands Council Annual Meeting
Ohio Department of Agriculture, Reynoldsburg Ohio;
Ohio Forage and Grassland Council will have their annual meeting and conference at ODA, Reynoldsburg, Ohio starting at 8:30 a.m. Cost for the conference is $30.00 for Ohio Forage and Grassland Council members or $40.00 for nonmembers. The conference theme is “Quality Forage for Animals: Economics and Production”. Speakers will be Dr. Neal Martin, Center Director of US Dairy Forage Research ARS/USDA talking about “Producing Quality Forage for Cattle and Sheep: Present and Future” and Dr. Geoff Brink, Research Agronomist USDA-ARS, discussing “Utilizing Your Forage Resources in an Efficient Manner”. Producer panel of sheep, beef, and dairy grazers plus forager producer will present what is happening on their farms. Breakout sessions will be “When to Hold and When To Fold: Optimizing Pasture Growth With Grazing”, “Filling the Summer Slump with Annual Grasses, and “If You Can’t Measure It, You Can’t Manage It” and “Access to Seed: Global Seed Production and Ohio Producers” and make checks payable to Ohio Forage and Grassland Council.
