Public Programs
Program listings change to reflect new exhibits and activities at the museum and across the Smithsonian Institution, but count on regular features, such as Collection Connections, to repeat throughout the year.

Collection Connections
Drop in any time during this informal workshop to learn the basics of stamp collecting, also known as philately. Much more than tiny pieces of paper, everyday and exotic postage stamps open doors to all corners of culture, history, art, and geography. Learn the first steps of this exciting hobby by learning new skills such as soaking and sorting stamps, using reference guides, and exploring stamps in the galleries. Collection Connections is appropriate for adults and young people alike.

Calling Family Event Volunteers!
Family program volunteers play a vital role in facilitating fun and educational experiences at weekend and weekday programs throughout the year. Volunteers greet visitors, direct hands-on family activities, guide art projects, facilitate exploration of museum objects, and engage in many other interactions with diverse visitors.

Interested in being part of a small, creative team in a national institution? Visit the Volunteer page or contact public programs coordinator Erin Blasco at 202-633-5528 or NPMprograms@si.edu for more information.
