Corps extends hours of operations at Willamette Falls Locks

PORTLAND, Ore. – Willamette Falls Locks will operate extended hours through the end of September. Beginning tomorrow, the locks will be open Thursday through Monday, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., through the end of the operating season.

The extension will give boaters an extra two hours each night to pass through the locks at West Linn, Ore.

“By having the locks open on weekends and extending the hours into the evenings we are better able to serve the public,” said Jerry Carrol, Willamette Falls Locks maintenance manager.

The locks provide the only means of water travel around the falls and are primarily used by recreational boaters.
