Aurora Water Receives Phase IV Award!

Aurora Water (Colorado) is only the sixth utility in the nation to receive the Phase IV Excellence in Water Treatment Award. The Partnership congratulates Aurora Water's Wemlinger Water Treatment Plant staff for achieving the highest level of plant performance that can be achieved in the four-phased Partnership program, and signifies optimized plant performance. Only five other water utilities in the nation have reached this performance level. The utility will be recognized at the AWWA Annual Conference in San Diego in June.

AwwaRF Distribution System Optimization Project

A project is underway to develop criteria to define excellence in distribution system operation. The criteria will be the foundation of an optimization program for distribution systems using similar approaches to the treatment plant optimization program for the Partnership. A workshop is now scheduled for May 2009 to focus on the criteria and develop tracking software. The project began in November 2007 and is scheduled to be complete late 2009.  If you have any questions, please contact Frank Blaha, AwwaRF Project Manager, at fblaha@awwarf.org.  Look for more updates soon.
